Back-to-school well-check exams are covered by Medicaid. Immunizations, sports physicals, and more are included!
There is usually no cost for annual well-check exams
Well-check exams are covered by Medicaid/CHIP and most insurance plans. That means no cost to parents. If you don’t have insurance, we can help! Ask about our Get Care program.
Well-check exams can include school and sports physicals
Older children who plan to play sports at school usually take care of their sports physical at the same time as their well-check exam. In other words, school and sports physicals, or pre-participation physical evaluation (PPEs), can be included as part of your child’s well-check visit.
Well-check exams include immunizations
Your children will receive all the recommended immunizations for their age at the well-check exam visit.
Well-check exams include screenings for developmental milestones
The doctor will talk and play with your child during the well-check exam. It is part of the developmental milestone screening to determine whether children are learning and growing like other children their age or whether they need a little extra help. If your child needs help, your doctor will get you the needed services.
Well-check exams are an excellent time to talk with your child's doctor
During your child’s checkup, you’ll have a chance to speak to the doctor about any concerns or questions you may have about your child’s health and development.
