Vecino Health Centers earns 2025 HRSA gold recognition for quality care

Fifth gold award in six years for quality, cost-effective care

We are proud to share some exciting news: Vecino Health Centers has once again been recognized in the top 10 percent of the nation’s community health providers. The Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded us the 2025 Gold Health Center Quality Leader badge — an honor we have now received five times in the past six years.

Gold badges are awarded to health centers scoring in the top 10% nationwide; silver badges to the top 11–20%. Vecino has received five gold and one silver award.

This recognition reflects the commitment and dedication of our staff, the trust our patients place in us, and the continued support of our partners.

How HRSA measures quality

The Gold Health Center Quality Leader badge is based on HRSA’s “report card” system known as the Uniform Data System (UDS), where health centers across the country measure their performance on 16 key quality measures. These measures track important areas like prenatal and preventive health, behavioral health, and chronic disease management — all things that make a real difference in patients’ lives.

Additional national recognition in 2025

Alongside the gold badge, Vecino also earned three additional Community Health Quality Recognition Badges this year:

Heart Health Badge:

awarded for achieving over 80 percent in at least three out of four heart health measures.

Advancing Health IT Badge:

recognizing our leadership in telehealth, data exchange, patient engagement and tracking social health needs.

High Value Care Badge:

awarded for ranking in the top 20% nationally on quality benchmarks in both 2022 and 2023, while keeping cost growth below 2.54%.

What the awards mean to patients

These national recognitions are more than awards. They confirm that patients at Vecino’s two locations — Denver Harbor Family Health Center and Airline Children & Women’s Health Center — are receiving measurable improvements in care that improve their lives.

The additional honors in 2025 highlight how Vecino is using innovation and teamwork to make care even stronger. From investing in health IT that connects patients with their providers, to focusing on prevention and heart health, to proving that high-quality care can be delivered without driving up costs, these recognitions demonstrate that our mission is working.

Most importantly, this progress is made possible by the dedication of the staff at Denver Harbor Family Health Center and Airline Children & Women’s Health Center and the trust our patients place in us. Together, we are creating healthier futures for individuals, families, and the community we serve.
